He didn't ask me what dish I wanted, as soon as I said I'd take steak he zoomed off to the kitchen. I originally said chicken as well, so my husband could try my dish, but the chef talked me into steak instead. My husband chose chicken and asked about the chicken pad thai which the chef immediately went and made. We were a little taken aback, there were no menus and no one else working but the chef (unless you count his little boy) but decided to roll with it. I wouldn't call him rude, more straight forward, so be prepared for an entertaining lecture. He's a chatty guy with some pretty firm beliefs on things like food, nutrition and health. I explained that I have Celiac disease and he went into an entire monologue about the horrors of gluten in American food which I found amusing. The chef immediately told us to sit at the bar in front of him and started asking us questions like 'seafood or meat?' and 'how did you find us?'. We got there a few minutes before it opened so the place was empty.

My husband isn't a very adventurous eater, he's more of a pizza and hot dogs kind of guy so he wasn't super impressed with the facade of the building, the odd hours of operation or the fact that we couldn't get their website to load to check out the menu before going in but I talked him into giving it a shot.

We saw Thyme & Season and I pointed out the big sign advertising 'Over 100 gluten free dishes'. I live down in Draper but I was up in Bountiful and decided to get lunch with my husband.
